KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Primary School held its annual hockey tournament this past weekend and it was an overwhelming success.
More than 250 players took part in the hockey festival and a crowd of more than a thousand attended.
Teams from Gqeberha, George, Sedgefield and Plettenberg Bay participated in the U-13, U-11 and U-9 boys' and girls' tournament.
"We are very happy with the turnout and spirit of the young players displayed," said Petrone Digue, Knysna Primary School's sport coordinator.
"It was a huge success.
"The turnout was also great. Learners had so much fun.
"Some of the U-13 teams played 10 matches over the two days."
There was a tussle between Knysna Primary School's U-11 girls and Greenwood Bay College from Plett, to see who would remain unbeaten for the festival.
KPS won the last match 1-0 to maintain their unbeaten record.
This left the GBC team with a proud, but dented, record of P-8, W-3, D-4, L-1.
