KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Goju Ryu Karate-do students from Wessel's Martial Arts Academy recently returned home with five medals they earned at the inter-provincial all-styles karate championships between the SWD, Boland and WP.

This is an apt way to celebrate Wessel's Martial Arts Academy's tenth anniversary in this town.

Knysna's local karate star, Anuschka Zaayman, received silver for both Kata and Kumite, while Dylan Reichgelt received bronze in his divisions for Kata and Kumite.

Newcomer Quan Meyer, who fought in his first ever kumite match, did so in fine style and managed to secure a bronze medal.
These fine competitors will now focus on the next two big challenges, the prestigious African Goju Ryu Karate Federation tournament held in Stellenbosch at the end of September, as well as the Champ of the Champs event at the end of October.
