NETBALL NEWS - The Eden District Netball Federation held its send-off event on Wednesday afternoon, 27 April, at the Outeniqua Park Stadium. The event included the handover of the district colours (uniforms) to the players.
Eden District Netball Federation chairperson René Booysen said the Eden teams for 2022 were selected in February and have been training weekly in preparation for the Western Cape Netball Championships, which will take place from 29 April to 1 May in Beaufort West.
Eden is sending an u.19, u.21, men’s and senior netball team to the championship.
“It's the first time that we enter in all sections for this specific championship,” she said.
“The federation is extremely excited to be able to grant our players and officials the opportunity to participate in this competition. We are looking forward to the build-up for the upcoming 2023 Netball World Cup, which will be staged on our home soil in Cape Town.”
She said they are confident that these players will represent the district well and wished them good luck on behalf of the management. “We are confident that they will perform well in the competition and we are awaiting great results.”
