ATHLETICS NEWS - In light of the Covid-19 virus, all parkruns across South Africa, Namibia and Eswatini have been cancelled with immediate effect.
Bruce Fordyce, President of parkrun South Africa, said in a statement that the closure is expected to continue through April.
“We know that this message may be difficult to receive, and many people will be wondering what to do without their regular weekly catch-up,” Fordyce said.
“Please rest assured that we are working hard to develop a strategy to support the health and happiness of parkrunners around the world during this difficult time.”
Fordyce urged runners not to arrange group gatherings at their parkrun venues whilst parkrun events are suspended.
