KNYSNA NEWS - Western Cape Open Boxing held its Cadets and Juniors Championship at the weekend of 6 to 8 October at Khayalethu Community Hall in Knysna.

The following boxers won gold medals: Luniko Mamase, Imange Thethani, Miyolo Tywabi, Anam Mpumlwane, Qhamani Madolo, Singalakha Mbutuma, Mthembile Dume, Lawrence Mate, Anenceba Mfeketho and Limise Madotyeni. 

The tournament was supported by Knysna Municipality and attended by Knysna Mayor Aubrey Ntsengwa, while the Western Cape vice-president of Wester Ccape Open Boxing, Mveve Mdingi, was also present.

Eden Region Open Boxing president Nkosikho Makalima told KPH sister publication George Herald that it is good to see the numbers of junior' participating in the prestigious boxing championship and that they are looking forward to host more tournaments. 

He thanked Knysna Mayor Aubrey Tsengwa for their support, as well as everyone who attended the boxing fest.
