KNYSNA SOCCER NEWS - With two fixtures apiece in the SAB Regional League last weekend, FC United and CX Celtics had two different sets of fortunes on the day, coming up against Heaven Stars and Parks United.
Celtics beat Heaven Stars 2-0 in the first game of the day to earn three much-needed points.
FC United followed on from there with their clash against Parks United at 12:00. The game was a closely-contested encounter, but FC United were able edge their opponents from George 2-1. FC United then played the next game against Heaven Stars at 15:30, and thanks to a blitzing hattrick from Manganga Lusanda Benji saw United sweep aside their opposition 5-1.
In the final game of the day, Celtics faced off with Parks United. Despite taking a 2-1 lead, Celtics were unable to round out the game with a win, and went down 4-2 to Parks.
The wins for FC United see them climb into fourth on the log, while Celtics remain in 15th, but level on points with Springbok one place above them.
