The Proteas are ready to move on from their 108-run defeat in the opening Test against India in Mohali on the weekend.
They make their way to a new base in Bengaluru on Tuesday and are under pressure to avoid losing further ground in the four match series but as leg-spinner Imran Tahir explains there is no way to avoid the burden, it must be faced head on.
“The pressure is always there, it doesn’t matter where you play. It’s how you cope with it that will set you apart,” he said before the team’s departure.
While the result didn’t necessarily go the team’s way, Tahir had reason to be pleased with his performance in the match after claiming match figures of 6/71 in conditions tailor made for the tweakers.
“Everyone expects you to take wickets because it’s turning miles and the Indian spinners are taking wickets. I focus on what I need to do for the team, that is how I challenge myself.
