KNYSNA NEWS - Following the success of their first Urban X Trail Run and Obstacle Course, Coyote Events is holding their next event, dubbed “The Uprise” 5km and 10km Trail Run this Sunday 15 November.
As with the Urban X run, the event will start and end at Blackwaters River Lodge and head up into the pine forests.
The fallen, burnt trees that runners pass will remind them of the Knysna fires of 2017, but organisers hope this will also inspire when participants witness the regrowth and resilience of nature.
“We are so proud to be part of this innovative trail run. It is a wonderful opportunity to see how nature prevails while enjoying new territory that hasn’t been used before for an event," said Joletta Luise Eichweber of Chas Everitt Eden, the event's sponsor.
Registration will take place at Blackwaters River Lodge on Saturday 14 November between 15:00 and 16:00 as well as on Sunday at 07:00, and tickets cost R60 each.
The race begins at 08:00, but before the start, there will be a stretching session with yoga instructor Katja Schuermann as well as a display of colour and fire.
The first 100 contestants will receive medals and there are also as cash prizes for the three top men, women and children.
