Following these championships, five athletes represented the Western Cape at the South African Junior Athletics Championships held in Durban during the Easter school holidays.
Khanya Plaatjies became Knysna Primary School’s first national athletics champion when he won his long-jump category. Eveleen Dos Santos and Cameron Lombaard managed eighth positions in their respective high-jump events and Sydney Mulder finished fifth in the javelin event.
