KNYSNA SPORT NEWS - KnysnaX Sporting Events held its first Ravine Time Trial last Friday, 26 February, at The Farm on Old Cape Road.
February saw a couple of firsts for the team from KnysnaX, that hosted its first ever run on 13 February in the form of the Cupid Run around the Pezula Championship Course, followed by the time trial two weeks later.
The team from KnysnaX was due to hold its first races and events in early January, but due to the lockdown level 3 restrictions at the time, was unable to host the series of trail runs planned.
But, this did not keep KnysnaX down. It wanted to keep offering chances for local runners to enjoy timed events, and so the Cupid Run and the time trial were born.
While the Cupid Run followed 4,8km of cart paths along the Pezula Championship Course, the time trial was a much shorter 1km route around the trails at The Farm.

The trail of the Ravine Time Trial presented a series of unique challenges, with a few sneaky uphills along the route, which was made worthwhile by the scenery.
Entry fees included the option to choose from running three laps (3km), five laps (5km), or 10 laps (10km) around the track, as well as the choice of a pizza from the kitchen at The Farm.
KnysnaX plans to hold the Ravine Time Trial once a month, on the final Friday of the month. Find more information and contact the KnysnaX team via its Facebook page.
