NATIONAL NEWS - The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) has warned of a scam doing the rounds targeting vulnerable people seeking employment within the directorate.
The recruitment office of the Hawks has received numerous calls from people saying they were following up after speaking to a ‘Colonel Monyela’ who requested them to forward their CV and qualifications.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale, said official advertisements would only be published in newspapers and the website of the South African Police Service as well the government circulars with a due date.
“No members in the recruitment office or the entire directorate shall ever phone any person requesting them to apply for any available jobs within the DPCI in exchange for money. We therefore warn members of the society to be vigilant and guard against fraudsters attempting to rob them of their money,” Mogale said.
