NATIONAL NEWS - AfriForum has announced that its private prosecuting unit will take on National Prosecuting Authority Advocate Nomgcobo Jiba on charges of fraud, perjury and defeating the ends of justice.
The matter relates to Jiba authorising racketeering charges against former KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Johan Booysen.
The KwaZulu-Natal High Court set aside that decision on grounds that it offended the principle of legality and was unconstitutional.
Jiba was then charged with fraud and perjury but soon after she was appointed, prosecutions boss Shaun Abrahams ordered that the decision to prosecute be withdrawn.
