“However the weather has cleared slightly and some aircrafts have already taken off and landed. The weather is something we cannot control and we do not want to compromise the safety of the flights,” he said.
Naidoo said the delays caused by the weather had lead to other delays at other airports and advised passengers to call their airlines ahead of time to check the status of their flights.
“These delays have definitely caused a ripple effect but we are working towards clearing this backlog at other stations. We are working hard to get the schedule back to normal,” he said.
