It was confirmed on Wednesday that several computers were stolen during a burglary at the Silverton, Pretoria offices.
Acting Hawks head Yolisa Mataka has condemned the incident, calling it unfortunate.
She's given an assurance that a crack investigating team is attempting to get to the bottom of the burglary.
But sources have suggested that it may have been an inside job as access cards were used to gain entry to the particular offices targeted.
Meanwhile, Parliaments Police Portfolio Committee wants Matakata to explain the security breach.
