Doctor Jonathan Scholtz was the first defence witness who testified during sentencing proceedings yesterday, two years after he first assessed the former athlete.
Pistorius is being sentenced again after the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) found him guilty of murder and not culpable homicide, as Judge Thokozile Masipa had previously found.
The state has argued that Scholtz did not take into account that Pistorius was violent and verbally aggressive when he was first jailed.
