NATIONAL NEWS - A fourth Hoërskool Driehoek learner has died in ICU after a bridge collapse at the school on Friday. The boy was being treated at a hospital in Alberton, OFM reports that Overvaal Stereo’s Facebook page confirmed the news on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Marnus Nagel.
Three learners died and others injured on Friday after a large cement walkway collapsed, the deceased pupils have been identified as 17-year-old Rayden Olckers, 13-year-old Marli Carli and 13-year-old Jandre Steyn.
The school has since been closed indefinitely by the Gauteng Department of Education. Education executive committee member (MEC) Panyaza Lesufi said: “There won’t be schooling until further notice.”
