PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The wildfire that was raging near Kwanokuthula in Plettenberg Bay is under control.
Acting Director of Community Services and Head of Public Safety, Andile Sakati confirmed that firefighters have managed to bring the fire under control and that mopping up operations have started.
The fire teams will remain on site to ensure possible flare-ups are eliminated.
Sakati expressed his gratitude to all parties that moved in swiftly to deal with the fire and avert a possible bigger disaster.
“The role played by the GRDM, Bitou Municipality Fire Services, Plett South FMUs, and all other parties that came out is greatly appreciated. A special word of thanks go out to Plett Kwikspar for their donation of supply packs for the firefighters,” Sakati said.
