RHEENENDAL NEWS - Dr Lee-Maine Spies recently obtained her PhD in Biochemistry at Stellenbosch University.
Her research explored the anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic properties of rooibos in oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.
A proud alumna of Hibernia Primary and George High School, she is the daughter of Lionel and Charmaine Spies from George.
She is the granddaughter of the late Phillip and Johanna-Helena (‘Nursie’) Spies from Rheenendal, and Martinus and Victoria Theron from Herold.
