KNYSNA NEWS - A 76-year-old man is safely back with his family after he had been missing for roughly two days.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, Thembile Mayedwa (76) from Rheenendal was reported as missing by his next of kin on Thursday 19 May.
At the time, investigations into his disappearance revealed that Mayedwa boarded a taxi from Rheenendal to Knysna on Thursday.
He was last seen when he was dropped off in the central business district of Knysna. Much to the delight of all involved, Mayedwa was found unharmed on Saturday 21 May.
"Acting Eden Cluster Commander, Brigadier Phumzile Cetyana, thanked the search party and the broader public for their assistance in the safe return of Mr Mayedwa," Spies said.
