PLETTENBERG BAY - An opportunistic thief met his match when he had a run-in with members of the Bitou Crime Prevention Unit after he slipped into municipal offices and made off with a laptop.
According to local crime fighters the alleged thief managed to enter the municipal offices in the Melville's Corner centre during load-shedding at lunchtime on Thursday 21 April.
The municipality's crime prevention unit reacted swiftly and after doing some detective work, found the alleged thief and retrieved the laptop.
The suspect was handed over to local police and a case was opened against him.
