KNYSNA NEWS - The Noleen Dirkse Foundation hosted a Women's Day Health event at the Hornlee Community Hall on 9 August to celebrate the strength and resilience of women and address critical issues affecting their well-being.
The event featured testimonials from community women who have made significant positive contributions, highlighting their achievements and inspiring stories.
In addition, there was a tampon donation drive, awareness was raised about HIV care and ending stigmatisation associated with the disease, and the importance of empowering and protecting women in uniform was highlighted.
The event also provided tools, resources and opportunities to empower women, recognising the potential of women-led businesses and encouraging investment in these ventures.
Lastly, the foundation emphasised the importance of education for young girls, encouraging and supporting them in pursuing their education to ensure equal opportunities for their full potential.
The Women's Day Health event was a testament to the Noleen Dirkse Foundation's commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality.
