KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna municipality's Head of Disaster Management, Richard Meyer confirmed that he has also tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a municipal statement, Meyer decided to self-quarantine and test for Covid-19 as a precautionary measure after having had close contact with a colleague of the Garden Route District Municipality.
Meyer is a well-known face in local event circles and law enforcement. He is also the municipality's Events Committee Chairperson. Meyer and his family are in Council's prayers and we wish him a speedy recovery.
The news of his results comes shortly after the municipality announced the status of the Director Infrastructure Services.
Both officials have been in self-isolation since the weekend and will continue to work from home.
