KNYSNA NEWS - After six days of intensive searching, missing 42-year-old Candice Sass from Kalender Street in Hornlee has been found safe and sound.
The search, which began after she was last seen leaving her home on Monday 11 August, ended in relief as she was reunited with her family.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said in a statement:
"Investigation into the disappearance of the missing woman took the search party to Kaalkol near Oupad in Knysna where she was found. The woman was subsequently reunited with her family."
According to Spies, the Garden Route District Commissioner, Major General Phumzile Cetyana, commended all the role players who were instrumental in her safe return.
The community also expressed immense gratitude for the efforts of the volunteers and other organisations who tirelessly worked to bring Sass home.
The multi-agency operation included the police, Urban Search and Rescue, SANParks, Knysna Fire Department, local councillors, the Garden Route District Municipality, Law Enforcement, EMS Metro, the K9 Unit from George, Allsound Security, and numerous community members.
The circumstances surrounding Candice's disappearance and her decision not to inform her family of her whereabouts remain unclear. When pressed for details, Sass declined to comment.
