GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - At 12:15 on Monday 20 November, NSRI Wilderness duty crew were activated following eye-witness reports of a suspected body seen floating in the Kaaimans River and drifting towards the river mouth.
An NSRI Wilderness rescue swimmer responded and swam to the scene and confirmed that a body was floating in the river mouth.
Additional NSRI Wilderness rescue swimmers responded along with the SA police, EDM (Eden district municipality) Fire and Rescue Services and forensic pathology services.
Four NSRI Wilderness rescue swimmers recovered the body of an unidentified adult male from the surf in the river mouth.
The body was taken into the care of the forensic pathology services.
Police have opened an inquest docket.
