Chicago masters
Harmonica player and singer Gordi Brown delivers the blues in the tradition of the Chicago masters, adding West Coast swing and classic jazz standards.
"For me, the blues has to be deep, emotional, convincing, and from the heart," he says. "As far as the jazz-oriented tunes go, they must swing and be very bluesy."
Shows always a sell-out
A great entertainer, Gordi has performed to much acclaim in the UK, and Europe, and now South Africa. His shows are always a sell-out so book your seats early to avoid disappointment.
As well as performing, Gordi presents a weekly blues and swingin' jazz programme, The Gordi Brown Blues Show, on Knysna 97.0FM and MC Plettenberg Bay 90.3FM every Sunday, from 17:00 to 18:00.
"It's a privilege to be able to share my passion for the blues and play my favourite sounds. It's my time with the music that I love, my way to review the roots of my musical inspiration.
"Hopefully, listeners will learn more about the artists who have helped make the blues one of the richest and most enduring forms in musical history," he says.
