PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - South African golfing legend Gary Player, who turned 90 on 1 November, was honoured by the Nomads Golf Club of South Africa at the Goose Valley Golf Club in Plett today.
Player is the last surviving founding member of Nomads Golf Club.
Together with Michael Florence and 104 other founding members, Player formed the Follow the Sun Nomads Golf Club in 1960.
Player played regular monthly games at his Nomads club in Johannesburg.
Nomads celebrated its 65th anniversary at Goose Valley this morning with a function where Dale Hayes was master of ceremonies.
Player, who is a native of Plett and designed the Goose Valley course, hit a shot at the 11th Par 3 with every fourball playing in the competition.
