KNYSNA NEWS - A youth rally will be held in White Location in honour of Human Rights Day on 29 March. It will start in front of Chris Nissen Primary School and continue around White Location.
The rally is organised by Best Future Learning, a non-profit organisation led by Getrude Mbombo, who founded the organisation a year ago.
The NPO grew from a small aftercare group caring for five learners to a registered organisation that helps and cares for 50 learners.
The rally will host guest speakers from in and around the Knysna community who will inform the learners of their basic human rights.
The learners partaking in the rally will also perform poems that they wrote on the theme of the day.
The rally's goal is to bring attention to and involve the community in the support of children's rights.
The rally will be centered around the youth and educating them on their human rights.
Best Future Learning is a local organisation that facilitates help for learners through homework improvement, exam prep, school projects, holiday programmes and sports programmes. The foundation offers academic support to learners from all around Knysna, especially those coming from previously disadvantaged communities.
Best Future Learning has received overwhelming support from the parents of learners in their programme as well as their volunteers.
The youth rally is the second event organised by the organisation, the first one being a Valentine's Day event that was an interactive and fun day for the learners and parents alike.
