PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay is now the proud host of the Mr Garden Route title after 23-year-old Gavin Gainsford recently beat his opponents for the crown at the Wilderness Hotel.
Gainsford, from Ace Models, was born and bred in New Horizons, Bitou where he attended Formosa Primary and later matriculating at Plettenbergbaai Secondary School in 2012.
One of his favourite subjects was consumer studies. "But as I got older I lost interest and found a love for modelling and fashion," says Gainsford, adding that modelling has helped his self-confidence, especially after winning the first pageant he entered, Mr Knysna/Plett 2017.
The Mr South Africa hopeful's advice to youngsters and especially budding young models is that you are never too old to reach for your dreams.
"With confidence, respect, by remaining humble and surrounding yourself with positive people, I believe that many doors can open for you."
