PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Running around in public with a flat-screen television under your arm is a surefire way to draw attention to yourself.
This is exactly what happened in the Ladywood area in Plettenberg Bay on Saturday 14 August.
Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association operations head Otto Olivier said an alert was sent out when someone spotted a suspect running with a television set near Ladywood.
Various PBCPA members responded and the suspect was chased through a bushy area in the vicinity. "This is where the suspect disappeared in the thick overgrowth," Olivier said.
A meticulous sweep of the area was carried out, but it did not yield any success in apprehending the suspect. All was however not lost. "While the suspect got away, stolen goods were recovered by Smhart Security responders, Fidelity ADT response officers and Ladywood resident André Stander. It is believed that the suspect dropped the stolen items."
