KNYSNA NEWS - Most people have at least seen a video of a prankster placing a rubber snake in someone's car, but for a certain Knysna motorist this was all too real when he found a snake in his engine bay.
This became public on social media on Saturday 8 May, when Arrive Alive posted a photo of the man's discovery on Twitter.
The post states that the man discovered the snake under his bonnet after he stopped at a filling station in Knysna.
The person who made the discovery certainly got a fright when they spotted the reptile. See the tweet here.
The post garnered a lot of social media attention, with many weighing in on how they'd have reacted in the situation. One usersaid that they would "simply evaporate". Another proclaimed, "Yoh I’d leave that car there and walk back home".
One user even gave theory as to why the snake would have slithered its way into the engine bay. "Shame, it was probably attracted by the heat of the engine." As we edge closer and closer to winter and the temperatures continue to drop, this seems a likely reason.
If there's anything to learn from this encounter, it is that one should always take care when opening up your bonnet.
