The little travellers were four juvenile loggerhead turtles that washed up along the Garden Route and were brought to the Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre in the Crags outside Plett for rehabilitation.
They were among more than 60 turtles, weighing only between 30g and 100g, that have been rescued in the Western Cape including in the Struisbaai area and along the Garden Route in recent weeks. Several more have also washed up around the Port Alfred area in the Eastern Cape.
