KNYSNA NEWS - This year's Knysna Oyster Festival got off to yet another spectacular start over the last week, with thousands of people flocking to the heart of the Garden Route to enjoy Knysna's largest tourism offering of the year.
The festival officially got under way last week Thursday 20 June, when mayor Mark Willemse opened the festival with a special evening at Whitewashed and Red Bridge Brewing Co in the Industrial Area.
Guests were treated to oysters (of course), loads of celebratory food and drink, as well as music from local artists who serenaded them right throughout the evening.

As is the case every year, the first premier event of the festival was the Knysna Cycle Tour which saw riders from across the country flock to Knysna for a cycling event like no other over the weekend.
There is still plenty to be seen and done over the next few days though, so make sure you don't miss out on any Oyster Festival action.
