KNYSNA NEWS - Local residents and cancer awareness enthusiasts donned their running and walking shoes on Sunday 25 October to take part in the local Cansa Shades of Pink walk or run.
The walks form part of the Cancer Association of South Africa's (Cansa) Breast Cancer Awareness Month itinerary, which falls in October every year.
This is when Cansa strives to raise awareness among women of symptoms, changes in their bodies and the necessity of going for screening tests in order to detect cancer early.

According to the Cansa website, in addition to breast cancer, this year it is focusing on the other top four cancers too, being cervical, colorectal, uterine, and lung cancer. Of these, breast and cervical cancer affect women most.
