KNYSNA NEWS - New visiting hours are in place at the Life Knysna Private Hospital.
The hospital's marketing and communications coordinator Elzaan Moelich said, "Our patients are our first priority and we perpetually aim to create and maintain an environment that is conducive to healing."
With this in mind, she said, a decision was made to amend the visiting times, as follows:
- General ward: 11:30-12:00; 15:00-16:00; 19:00-20:00
- Surgical ward: 11:30-12:00; 15:00-16:00; 19:00-20:00
- ICU / high care: 11:00-12:00; 15:00-16:00; 19:00-20:00
- Maternity unit: 11:00-12:00; 15:00-16:00; 19:00-20:00 (excluding fathers)
She said the reason for amending the visiting times is to allow the doctors, nurses and ancillary healthcare workers (physiotherapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, laboratory services) the required time to perform the treatment and thus ensuring better care for patients.
The visiting times for ICU/high care unit and the maternity unit remains unchanged. The current arrangement of two visitors at a time per patient also remains the same, as does the restriction in the specialised units.
• No visitors under 12 years old.
• Only two visitors per visiting hour for patients in isolation rooms.
Moelich advised people to check with the unit manager in the specialised units for any additional precautions.
