KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Provincial Hospital brought the forest to the hospital during their annual children's party for paediatric patients themed "The Big Forest" on Friday 19 July.
The aim of the party is to give back to the community, especially the children.
The hospital had smaller parties in the past, but it is only in 2015 that they revamped the event. Their communications official Nadia Ferreira said, "We have children who are admitted to the hospital for long periods, some up to six months, who miss out on fun festivities throughout the year. As this party is arranged and funded mainly by our staff, we depend on donations from the community and local businesses to succeed in our venture."

They have the party in July, Ferreira said, due to so many of their long-term patients going away over December.
Over 30 children were entertained by storytelling and plays that featured some of the animals found in the forest. They also received goodies and during a lucky draw, Austin Conradie won a life-size teddy bear. Knysna African Back also donated R5 000 during the event.
On behalf of the hospital Ferreira expressed her gratitude to all their sponsors who contributed towards making the event a success.
Some of the children were hiding under the table.
The children had an absolute blast getting to play and draw with the crayons.
Buddying over colouring.
