A feedback meeting by all 10 Knysna ward committees to the speaker of the council, Eleanore Bouw-Spies was set to kick off the decision making on public drinking over the festive season; if it will be allowed and if so, where and when, but the meeting ended up in another public participation session.
At the meeting the speaker also admitted the council had dealt badly with the whole issue.
At the Brenton community hall meant for Ward councillors and ward committee members to inform Bouw-Spies on the outcome of all the public participation meetings in the different municipal wards, that took place from November 16 till November 23, Bouw-Spies opened the meeting by saying: "This is a feedback meeting. No voting will take place."
