KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna police visited the Rainbow Creche in Smutsville on November 25 as part of the Santa Shoebox project.
Santa Shoebox was introduced to the Knysna SAPS earlier this year and police members gladly agreed to be part of this project. Together with Knysna Community Police Forum they managed to provide 32 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to the creche.
This visit coincided with the first day of the 16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children campaign. Acting station commander Major Patrick Gogwana briefly spoke to the children about their safety and told them how and where to report any form of abuse.
Gogwana also conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all the police members for their effort and willingness to bring a smile to the kids' faces.
The Knysna police remain committed to the safety of children and urge everyone to wear a white ribbon during these 16 Days of Activism.
