KNYSNA NEWS AND VIDEO - Hundreds of mourners, including municipal officials, provincial and national government representatives, packed the Concordia High School hall in Knysna on Saturday 4 August to pay their last respects to Knysna Ward 8 councillor Victor Molosi, who was gunned down near his home last month.
The hall soon reached its maximum capacity and at least 200 people had to sit or stand outside the hall as multiple tributes were made to the man who people say was a pillar of the community he served.
Although a sombre mood dominated most of the proceedings, song and dance kicked in sporadically, celebrating the man people affectionately called Freeze.
It was also during these proceedings that national police minister Bheki Cele announced that two suspects were arrested in connection with Molosi's suspected assassination, bringing the family and community a few steps closer to closure. Since then, one prominent Knysna community member, Mandla Tyololo, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and appeared briefly at the Knysna Magistrates Court on Monday 6 August.
