GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A wildfire is currently active in the Rondevlei area in the Knysna Local Municipal area. 

Rondevlei is situated southwest of The Lakes Nature Reserve, close to Pine Lake Marina in Sedgefield.

Knysna Municipality Firefighters are currently on the scene. They've requested assistance from Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) firefighters who are now en route to the incident. 

Two tankers and bakkies from GRDM are heading to the scene.

An update will be issued again tomorrow morning after the next shift has completed its firefighting operations.

The South African Weather Services (SAWS) predicted 5mm rain for Knysna tomorrow with a minimum of 13 °C and a maximum of 20 °C.
