KNYSNA NEWS - Woodmill Lane shopping centre hosted a family fun day that turned the complex into a playground with a variety of games that both children and adults could enjoy, food stalls and more.
The event was on Thursday 5 October from 15:00 to 20:00.
Event Hannelie Berry, said, “We’re trying to create interest and get people back to the mall. We decided to run this during the school holidays, so we organised all kinds of fun games they could enjoy – and they really did.“
Berry said they were happy with the outcome, but that “like any organiser, we’re always hoping for more”.
Melvin Mene, a Tshisa nyama owner who had a stall there, said, “When Hannelie offered me an opportunity to have my stall here I grabbed it with both hands. This is a great opportunity for my brand to get exposure.”
Nick van Rooyen, who had a fish and chips stall, said, “We’re here to have fun and make money in the process.”
Another similar event is on the cards for December, said Berry, with the date yet to be confirmed.
