KNYSNA NEWS - Property related crimes:
TOWN AREA -
THEFT - GREY STR (Thurs 2 November @ 16h14) - Shop Owner telephoned to report theft from shop. Owner suspected that the suspect was a 12 year old boy. Area was searched, suspect not found.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Fri 3 November @ 14h56) - Shoplifter was apprehended by Allsound Guards after he stole a watch. Case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
VEHICLE THEFT - MAIN STR (Sat 4 November @ 13h10) - Allsound Guards requested assistance after motorist reported his vehicle was stolen. With assistance from CCTV footage, it was discovered that the theft was planned by owner of the vehicle with an accomplice. Owner was charged with perjury and his accomplice with theft. Both men were arrested by SAPS.
BURGLARY - NEWTON STR (Sun 5 November @ 11h19) - Officer responded to alarm and client phone in confirming break-in at the premises. Window on balcony had been forced open. Laptop, hard drive and a watch were reported missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Tues 7 November @ 12h09) - Allsound guards requested assistance after suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. Case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
AGGREVATED ROBBERY - FICHAT STR (Wed 8 November @ 20h25) - Resident phoned for assistance after a young lady was attacked and robbed of her handbag. CCTV footage was reviewed and suspect identified as a well-known criminal. Information was passed on to SAPS and suspect was arrested shortly afterwards. A case was opened.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN -
BURGLARY - VYGIE STR (Sat 4 November @ 09h08) - Client telephoned to report that they had a break-in during the night. Kitchen window was forced open. A cellphone, Tablet, Cash and Makita Cordless drill was reported missing. Case was opened.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - VYGIE STR (Sat 4 November @ 14h39) - Client reported that their vehicle was broken into during the night. 4 Pairs of sunglasses, a leatherman and Swiss Army knife and other miscellaneous items were stolen. SAPS were notified.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - CIRCULAR DR (Mon 6 November @ 13h10) - Client reported an intruder on the property trying to break-in. Suspect fled and was reported on another 2 properties in the area. Allsound Officers apprehended the suspect who was identified by the 1st owner. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM -
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - KIA APPLE CLOSE (Sun 5 November @ 09h07) - Resident reported that their vehicle was broken into during the night. 2 bags containing spanners and other tools were stolen. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA -
BURGLARY - MILKWOOD DR (Mon 6 November @ 08h26) - Client phoned in to report a break-in. Suspect forced open outside bathroom window. No access was gained to house, nothing missing. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - MILKWOOD DR (Mon 6 November @ 23h39) - Officer responded to panic alarm. Intruder had entered premises through unlocked sliding door and tried to steal TV. No case was opened.
THEFT - MILKWOOD DR (Wed 8 November @ 10h05) - Client telephoned to report that a suspect jumped over the wall, stolen documents out of his gardeners plastic bag and fled. Area was searched, suspect not found. Case was opened with SAPS.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES -
BURGLARY - PROGRESS RD (Sat 4 November @ 05h14) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found door forced open. Owner was notified and reported nothing visibly missing. No case was opened.
FISHER HAVEN / HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD -
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - THESEN STR (Thurs 2 November @ 06h34) - Client phoned in to report that their vehicle was broken into during the night. Backpack containing documents was reported missing. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - HOPE STR (Sat 4 November @ 02h29) - Officers responded to a panic alarm after client saw a suspect at the window. Officers confirmed it was a break-in. Laptop and alcohol was stolen. SAPS were notified, area also searched. No arrests made.
BURGLARY - LINDSAY STR (Mon 6 November @ 11h00) - Client phoned in to report that his garage was broken into some time during the previous day. A large number of power tools were reported missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON -
BURGLARY - STEENBRAS STR (Mon 6 November @ 08h41) - Keyholder telephoned to report a break-in at guest unit during the night. Entry was gained via an unlatched window. A camera was reported missing. SAPS were notified for a case to be opened.
BUFFALO BAY -
BURGLARY - PANORAMA STR (Sat 4 November @ 07h13) - Client requested assistance after guests staying on site notified they had a break-in. Sliding door was forced open during the night. Cellphone, 2 tablets and a handbag were reported missing. SAPS were informed and a case was opened.
