Ramsay also wished him well in his future career. The presentation took place in the open before the orchestra of the Waterkloof High School, Pretoria, who entertained the public beside the Yacht Club. The commander reciprocated by presenting the commodore with photographs of his ship taken through the periscope of one of the SA Navy's submarines during recent exercise.
The commander was accompanied by his first lieutenant and coxswain, and members of his crew. The commander has become the most talked about captain in many years since his exciting entry through the challenging Heads on Monday, July 4. What many may not be aware of is that the coxswain of the naval vessel is a relatively young female warrant officer, and she had the wheel during the exciting entry!
After Commander Msikinya received the Knysna Yacht Club Burgee in recognition of his negotiation of the perilous Knysna Heads, he invited the officer commanding Sea Cadets Training Ship Knysna, Steve Eriksen to receive his ship’s badge (crest) in brass. He made the presentation to recognise the wonderful parade work by the cadets during the 21st Anniversary Parade and Precision Drill Display earlier that day, and the support rendered to the SA Navy by Commander Eriksen, his wife Melanie and his cadets during the festival.

Commander ’Shoes’ Msikinya presented the OC of Sea Cadet Base TS Knysna with his ship’s badge (crest) in polished brass. He had noticed that SAS Umkomaas was missing from the collection of ’Um-boat’ badges in the Cadet Wardroom.
