World-renowned mountain bikers Sam Reynolds and Matt Macduff have returned to raise their 2015 record-breaking dirt bike jump to even greater heights and have made Barrington's Garden Route Trail Park their temporary home to enable them to expand on their project started at the park last year.
Pure Darkness 3.0 is a progression of an ongoing project initiated by Reynolds, Macduff and fellow mountain biker Danny Pace in the United Kingdom in 2014.
These adrenalin junkies took to the road to film, in their words, the "darkest" MTB project ever. The fearless freeride mountain bikers started to film the process of building massive ramps and jumps (step-ups) and finally their extraordinary skill of dirt jumping from then on.
Just after 6:00 this morning the riders gave their best, to for the last time compete against the elements they set for themselves. Knysna-Plett Herald news editor Christo Vermaak was there to document their fearless jumps.
