PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Bitou Municipality has urged Plettenberg Bay residents to do their part in curbing the spread of Covid-19 following a large spike in positive cases over the past week.
In less than seven days the number of confirmed active cases shot up from one to 16. By Monday this week, Bitou stood at 33 with 17 recoveries.
“We need each and every resident to start realising that Covid-19 is serious. All of us must be even more vigilant to stop the spread,” the municipality said in a statement.
It cautioned residents to treat every person as being possibly infected.
“Therefore keep to social distancing by staying at least a metre away from the nearest person; avoid gatherings and crowded places; wear a mask; do not touch your face and sanitise and or wash your hands regularly with soap.”
