KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna community police forum has once again been named the top CPF in the province for 2016/2017.
This award was announced at the Western Cape SAPS Awards ceremony held at Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town on Saturday 21 October.
This was the second year running that the Knysna CPF received the award.
The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula handed over the award to Knysna CPF chairperson Cheryl Britz, in honour and recognition for their extraordinary contributions towards and partnering with the SAPS in making communities safer together.
The Knysna CPF was recognised for building strong partnerships with the SAPS, like-minded law enforcement and security agencies, serving their community and facilitating regular meetings with all role players.
The CPF was also recognised for establishing good communication channels, such as WhatsApp groups, with all neighbourhood watches and role players.

The event was also attended by the chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committee on police Francois Beukman and deputy national police commissioner for human resource management Lieutenant General Bonang Mgwenya.
Britz commented, “To be recognised again comes down to our partnerships.
"Our thanks and congratulations to our greater Knysna team, SAPS, subforums, neighbourhood watches and all law enforcement partners.”
