The Garden Route Canna Cup, returning for its third year on 5 and 6 August, is more than just an event; it's a journey into the world of cannabis, a celebration of its versatility, and a platform for innovation.
From 10:00 to 17:00 at the Piesang Valley Community Hall in Plettenberg Bay, attendees will enjoy a blend of education, entertainment, and exploration.
Highlights of the event include cup competitions, where the industry's best growers, breeders and artisans compete for coveted titles in various cannabis categories. The expo and exhibitors' marketplace showcases cutting-edge products, technologies and services across the cannabis spectrum, while seminars and workshops offer insights from industry experts on cultivation techniques, sustainability, medicinal benefits, and the evolving legal landscape.
Networking opportunities abound, providing a platform for collaboration, sharing experiences, and building a strong community united by a common passion.
Live entertainment by talented artist Stretch infuses the event with energy and soulful melodies, creating an unforgettable experience.
Renowned canna judges Jeremy Acton and Gareth Prince will share insights on their landmark court case victory in 2018, which paved the way for changes to South Africa's cannabis laws. Their reflections will shed light on the remarkable journey the cannabis industry has undertaken since then.
There will also be workshops on a variety of topics - "What is good cannabis" with Natie Fereira of the Dagga Farmacy, "How Cannabis can assist with Stress and Anxiety" by Sister Vee Nohombile, "Soil Preparation" and "How to make Clones" with Slade West of Forest Roots. All the workshops are free except the Cloning workshop which is R250 as attendees receive a simple cloning kit.
