The Hansa Waterfront Rush is described as the most explosive, captivating and spectator- friendly event held at Knysna's Waterfront. The Rush started from a platform at least 7.5m above the water. Participants were blasted off the ramp in Fluid Solos and made their way through an 80m slalom kayaking course.
They then manoeuvred a device called a Hydro Bronc (likened only to a hamster wheel) and literally walked on water. A ropes course suspended above the water had to be traversed before competitors finished by scaling an overhang on a climbing wall.
The winners of the Hansa Waterfront Rush were not known at the time of going to print. The prize-money was a combined R20 000 in cash.
