KNYSNA NEWS - Congratulations to the Knysna Yacht Club team who won the Gypsy Nationals (Africa) at the Redhouse Yacht Club Regatta in Algoa Bay on 19 and 20 January.
Sanele Mayqaza and crew member Nyasha Tembo took first place, while JP Kriel and crew member Connell Tagarira came second in a fleet of 10 boats.
Aphendule Muneli and crew member Qhamani Girdi were placed fifth only because they had gear failure.
Their coach Mike Pogodin said these sailors did extremely well as it was not easy to remain consistent in winds of 20 to 25 knots. Well done guys!
