KNYSNA NEWS - It's that time of the year again when water polo takes the Knysna Waterfront and the town at large by storm. This is of course thanks to the Oakhill Waterfront Chukka festivals, the second of which (U19) is currently under way.
The second of three festivals, this week's U19 Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival kicked off yesterday Thursday 8 February.
For the festival, 46 teams (23 boys, 23 girls), 32 schools and roughly 700 learners have flocked to Knysna for some thrilling water polo action.
Schools have travelled from far and wide, with some travelling from as far as Pretoria to take part.
The first festival, the U13 Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival, was held last week from 1 to 3 February with great success.
Water polo and chukka fever have firmly taken a hold of the waterfront and the town, with the sound of water polo whistles and cheers from the crowds echoing up and down the Knysna Waterfront.
Matches will be played all day today, tomorrow (10 February) and Sunday (11 February) morning too.
