KNYSNA NEWS - Thirteen-year-old Hornlee Primary School learner L-Shaan Titus is the first rugby player to be selected for Craven Week from his school since Warrick Gelant in 2008.
L-Shaan will be playing for the SWD U13 rugby team at the U13 Craven Week.
The tournament will take place from Sunday 25 June to Friday 30 June at Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg.
The invite to play in the U13 Craven Week comes shortly after L-Shaan received an invitation to attend the Travel and Sport U13 Rugby Tour to Italy in December.
The following young stars from Knysna have also been selected to participate in the Craven Week tournament: Sean Ruiters and Elijah Matwa (Fraaisig Primary) and Nkosinathi Vanguu (Knysna Primary School). Caleb Smith, also from Knysna Primary, was selected to take part in the U13 Academy Week.
L-Shaan's family is immensely proud of the young player for following in the footsteps of his hero (Warrick Gelant).
A number of community-organised fundraisers have been held to raise the money for his upcoming trip to Craven Week and the rugby tour to Italy.
